...build unity...

...as Bahá'ís we know that unity is important. At one level, we can simply value unity and learn to work in an environment where unity already exists. But is this adequate? At a higher level of consciousness we learn to build unity and to transform situations of discord and conflict into those of harmony and loving fellowship. We are also aware that justice is imperative. But is it enough to only deal fairly with others? At a higher level of consciousness we are to become champions of justice and help create a just social order. Questions such as these abound. Do our communities act merely as a spiritual refuge for a handful of believers, or are they set out on a mission to spiritualize the planet? Are the institutions nothing more than stewards of a small religious community, or are they the channels of God’s grace for the entire region they serve?

... Como Bahá'ís sabemos que la unidad es importante. En un nivel, podemos  simplemente valorar la unidad y aprender a trabajar en un ambiente donde la unidad ya existe. ¿Pero será que basta? En un nivel superior de conciencia podemos aprender a construir la unidad y transformar situaciones de discordia y conflicto en armonía y comunión amorosa. También somos conscientes de que la justicia es imprescindible. Pero, ¿bastará solamente ser justos con los demás? En un nivel superior de conciencia hemos de convertirnos en campeones de la justicia y ayudar a crear un orden social justo. Preguntas como éstas abundan. ¿Será que nuestras comunidades funcionan únicamente como un refugio espiritual para un puñado de creyentes, o ¿están en una misión para espiritualizar el planeta? Será que las instituciones no son más que administradoras de una pequeña comunidad religiosa, o son los canales de la gracia de Dios para toda la región que han de servir?
